Mercedes-Benz (1883) German luxury car manufacturer founded by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler. Its headquarters are in Stuttgart, Germany. The brand is recognized for its slogan "The best or nothing". It was the first brand capable of creating a car. The history of the brand began separately; Benz and Daimler created their own company and were in competition for some time, Benz held the company called Mannheim Benz & Co (1883) and Gottlieb the Cannstatt Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft company (1990).

Benz introduced the first automobile in history in 1883: christened the Benz Patent-Motorwagen it was a simple prototype with 3 wheels, one gear and reached a maximum speed of 17 kilometers per hour. At the same time, in 1885 Daimler applied an engine with a vertical cylinder arrangement to a kind of bicycle and created the motorcycle. 10 years later, the first 4-wheel car was produced, the Benz Victoria. In 1986 the first Daimler truck was born and 10 years later Benz launched the first bus. Daimler struggled to move its brand forward without much success. But, this changed when he met Emil Jellinek, a famous Austrian dealer in love with cars, who popularized a Daimler brand car. Emil Jellinek bought practically all of Daimler's production in exchange for two conditions: it had to be the exclusive distributor in Austria, Hungary, France, Belgium and the US and the name of the car should be Mercedes. Daimler accepted, then Jellinek will drive a vehicle (Phoenix) in the Nice-Magnanone race coming out victorious, thereby unveiling the make and model worldwide. 20 years later Mercedes merged with Benz as a strategy to face the economic crisis that affected both companies. So, in 1926 they unite under the name Daimler-Benz AG, although the name that became popular was Mercedes-Benz. Before long, the famous logo design of the silver three-pointed star in a circle was created.
Before the World War, Mercedes-Benz presented a unique car: the Mercedes-Benz SSK. This car has 300 horsepower, 235 kilometers per hour of maximum speed and this allowed it to win several races. They began to design sports models, such as the Type 130 or the Sportroadster. However, its sale was not easy and the number of copies was minimal. In 1936, the company created the 260 D, the first diesel passenger car in history. In that decade the best-selling models were the 170 V, 500 K, 540 K and the Type 230. The German brand suffered serious consequences as a result of the devastating World War II: 90% of its facilities were left in rubble and its production was totally unstable.

Undertaking the Formula 1 project, Alfred Neubauer searched for several intact racing cars in the factories and contacted three drivers to join his racing team: Karl Kling, Hermann Lang and Juan Manuel Fangio. However, Mercedes never abandons its creation for luxury cars. Mercedes created a model that ensured success in most F1 races: the 300 SL. From these years the brand has entered other modalities such as rallies. In 1950 the brand inserted gull-wing doors in car models. Bruno Sacco marked the starting point to define the design of all future cars of the brand. In fact, 40 years later, the new models still look the same. The famous S-Class and G-Class appeared, later, the brand began to create more affordable models to the public such as the C, E and M-Class. Two years before 2000, DaimlerChrysler was born from the merger of Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler. They became the 3rd largest car group in the world and created the first modern off-road cars, including the R minivan and the GL-Class SUV.

Subsequently, it becomes the sole shareholder, currently has 1,200 employees at its headquarters in Affalterbach, where the firm assembles the propellants for its sports cars. Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton have participated in the Mercedes F1 team, all very successful.
